964 and 993 Service Advisory

964 and 993 Service Advisory

For your seldom-driven cars, we suggest the following services to be performed on an annual basis:

  • Oil filter service- change the oil and filter, cut the existing filter and inspect for the presence of metallic particles. For 993s we suggest replacing both filters.

  • Check the engine case and gearbox for leaks.

  • Inspect the functionality of the e-brake, and address if needed.

  • Inspect the condition of the brakes and the brake fluid.

  • Inspect steering rack boots, tie rod end boots, and ball joints.

  • Inspect the half-shafts for wear and torn boots. For all-wheel-drive cars, we also like to inspect the drive-shaft.

  • Nut-and-bolt the exhaust system and check for leaks.

  • Check the tires for cracks or dry-rotting, set to correct pressures.

  • Check all rubber seals, apply appropriate lubrication if necessary.

  • Complete inspection of the lighting system, including the headlight alignment.

  • Complete windshield washer inspection- check the fluid level, nozzle aim, and condition of the wipers.

  • Check the battery life by performing a load test and voltage check.

  • General check of electrical components and wiring, including the horn.

For the daily-drivers, we suggest the following every 15,000 miles.

  • Inspect the functionality of the e-brake, and address if needed.

  • Complete brake system inspection: Check the pads for wear; check the rotors for wear or cracks; check the hoses for rubbing; check the hard lines for damage; brake fluid flush.

  • Check to make sure the throttle movement is within specification.

  • Variocam-equipped cars will receive extra attention to the system to ensure its proper operation.

  • Inspect steering rack boots, tie rod end boots, and ball joints. Power-steering equipped cars will also have the system inspected for correct operation and leaks.

  • Check the drive-train fluids to ensure correct level.

  • Inspect the half-shafts for wear and torn boots. For all-wheel-drive cars, we also like to inspect the drive-shaft.

  • Nut-and-bolt the exhaust system and check for leaks.

  • Inspect the door hinges and lubricate as necessary.

  • Ensure the correct operation of all locks, latches, and power-lock systems.
