The factory race department needed more lighting back in the early rally days of the 911. Cibie Lamps, a French company, came to the rescue with their line of halogen lighting. Porsche chose the "boules" of the Citroen Pallas to fit to the front hoods , and fenders of their cars. These lamps became popular on other teams' competition cars, and the street car owners took notice as well. You could specify these as an option on your order sheet, when buying a car. From 1967 thru 1976, these high performance lamps were installed on the whole range of Porsches.
TRE has sourced an excellent reproduction of these lamps. Right down the adjusting screws, inspection stamp, and base plates. Driving lamp version is the only type available with a clear lens.
The usual yellow metal covers are NOT included with the lamps, and can be sourced elsewhere. If we can get these in the future, we will post them on our site. Protective foam backed, covers are available elsewhere as well.
Priced per pair, we only keep limited quantities in stock.
